Class Assistant Commitment Letter - September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026

Belief Statement

God created humanity to be in loving relationship with Him, ultimately through a Savior.
God’s Word, the Bible, guides people to Himself and is the final standard of Truth.
God has a good and sovereign plan encompassing all events, people, and spiritual beings.
God regards all people as disobedient, rebellious, separated from Him, and needing His forgiveness.
God’s Son, Jesus, came to earth, was fully God and fully Man, lived perfectly, died on a cross, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven.
God the Son will come again to bring the end of this world and eternal judgment.
God’s Son died to accomplish the forgiveness of sin and rose from the dead to accomplish the infilling of new life, applied by faith.
God rescues people from death into life based on His initiative and grace.
God’s Spirit fills all who believe with daily strength, spiritual gifts, and enduring faith.
God intends for His Church to gather for worship, maintain purity, and spread the Gospel.
God has given Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to express a believer’s union with Christ and spiritual transformation.
God values the family unit and organizes His Church to reflect this model, both relationally and structurally.
God designs and equips all Christians for ministry and some to lead in the Church as elders and deacons.

Children’s Ministry Purpose Statement:

The Sunday morning children's classes at Living Hope Church serve as a resource to parents in raising-up children with a grasp of the truth and relevance of God's Word, so they might grow into young adults with an active relationship with Christ. This will be accomplished through 1) a classroom atmosphere that is orderly, engaging, and fun; 2) lessons that are biblical, Christ-centered, and application-oriented; and 3) teachers that are committed, equipped, and excited.

Children’s Ministry Responsibilities

Class Assistants

Provides additional help setting up and cleaning up classrooms for Sunday School- arrive by 9:30 am.
Provides support to the Children’s Ministry Classes on an as needed basis- checking in on classes throughout duration and helping where needed.
Communicates with teachers through walkie talkies. Responds to notifications from teachers when help/additional assistance is needed, Ex: child or teacher gets sick/hurt.
Provides coverage for bathroom breaks- stays in the classroom with the teacher while a helper takes children to the bathroom to maintain the 2-person safety rule.
Looks for/notifies Deacon of any child that is listed as present on roster but not in classroom.
Assists with dismissal- stands in the hallway to make sure older kids line up and wait for teachers.
Checks to make sure doors are locked throughout building after dismissal.
Able to provide additional assistance to teachers/helpers in Emergency situations. Helps evacuate children in the Early Learner Classroom during needed evacuations.
Gets parents in service if needed and they are not responding to text alerts through the Planning Center app.
Communicates with the Children’s Deacon in service if additional help is required. Communicates needs/incidents to Children’s Deacon and Children’s Director.
May assist as a last-minute class helper in case of a large class size.

Living Hope Church Children’s Ministry Commitment *

I have read the church Belief Statement, these beliefs accurately represent my own, and I commit to teach the children according to these beliefs.

I have read the Children’s Ministry Responsibilities and commit to fulfill these to maintain an organized, safe, and God-honoring children’s ministry.

I commit to supervise the children as a whole and relate to individual children with the same love, respect, gentleness, and fairness that God has shown me.

I commit to communicate any questions, concerns, or needs regarding the overall program, the curriculum, or specific children to the Team Leader, Children’s Deacon or Children’s Ministry Director.

I agree to serve for the Sept. 2025-Sept. 2026 year in my role. Should I need to step down from my role, I will provide 6 weeks' notice, when possible, to allow time to find a replacement.
