Belief Statement
  • God created humanity to be in loving relationship with Him, ultimately through a Savior. 
  • God’s Word, the Bible, guides people to Himself and is the final standard of Truth.   
  • God has a good and sovereign plan encompassing all events, people, and spiritual beings.    
  • God regards all people as disobedient, rebellious, separated from Him, and needing His forgiveness.  
  • God’s Son, Jesus, came to earth, was fully God and fully Man, lived perfectly, died on a cross, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven.  
  • God the Son will come again to bring the end of this world and eternal judgment. 
  • God’s Son died to accomplish the forgiveness of sin and rose from the dead to accomplish the infilling of new life, applied by faith.   
  • God rescues people from death into life based on His initiative and grace. 
  • God’s Spirit fills all who believe with daily strength, spiritual gifts, and enduring faith.   
  • God intends for His Church to gather for worship, maintain purity, and spread the Gospel. 
  • God has given Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to express a believer’s union with Christ and spiritual transformation. 
  • God values the family unit and organizes His Church to reflect this model, both relationally and structurally.   
  • God designs and equips all Christians for ministry and some to lead in the Church as elders and deacons.   
Children’s Ministry Purpose Statement:
The Sunday morning children's classes at Living Hope Church serve as a resource to parents in raising-up children with a grasp of the truth and relevance of God's Word, so they might grow into young adults with an active relationship with Christ.  This will be accomplished through 1) a classroom atmosphere that is orderly, engaging, and fun; 2) lessons that are biblical, Christ-centered, and application-oriented; and 3) teachers that are committed, equipped, and excited.

Children’s Ministry Responsibilities
Early Learners Teachers and Helpers
  • As the children are dismissed from the worship service, be waiting in your designated area with the rope for lining up and colored class sign. Once all the children are assembled, quickly and quietly lead them to the classroom. 
  • Ensure that all children are signed-in with the check-in system and have a nametag on their backs. 
  • Confirm attendance through your digital class roster. Review any special instructions or allergy alerts for your class. Note any child that is not in the roster and report those names to the Children’s Director after class.  
  • Review the Behavior Expectations with your students as needed. Utilize the Discipline Procedures to handle behavior incidents. 
  • Do your best to handle “needy” children on your own. When necessary, please text the parent. 
  • Lead the children to participate in age-appropriate bible stories, songs, and/activities.
  • Bathroom breaks: Children should be taken to the bathroom by the helper in groups or pairs. Call the Class Assistant using the walkie for additional supervision of the class.
  • Children should be dismissed only to a parent or caregiver with a retrieval sticker that corresponds to the child’s security sticker. 
  • Before you leave, make sure everything is put back in the cart. Wipe down any toys or supplies put in the mouth with sanitizing wipes. Clean up any crumbs, trash, or spills. Push the cart and/or other supplies back to the supply closet in the old gym. Return any unused snacks to the kitchen. 
  • Relay any concerns from the morning regarding individual children, or the overall program, to the Team Leader, Children’s Ministry Deacon, or Children’s Director. 
All Sunday School Teachers
  • Set aside time during the week to pray, study the Bible passage, and prepare the lesson in accord with the Living Hope Church Belief Statement. 
  • Be aware of what curriculum materials and general supplies are in the classroom and plan for other needed materials. 
  • If you need to do any setup in your classroom, plan to do this before the service begins so you can join the beginning of the worship service. 
  • As you study the Bible passage and prepare the lesson, be sure to consider how the main point connects to Jesus and what His death and resurrection achieved. 
  • In light of this connection with Jesus, be sure to consider how the main point should practically impact each child’s relationship with God.
